On Valentine's Day

Whenever February strikes the calendar, they start singing 'Love is in the air', 'it's the month of love'. Don't we love our beloveds in other months?? Then why do we need a day devoted to love? I have always believed we do not need a day to celebrate love. However, off late, I have come to realize that we need a day to celebrate our love. Every day we face harsh realities of life. Natural calamities like earthquakes, tsunami have become frequent visitors. Terror attack is no more that distant enemy. Everyday, newspaper discloses a new scam. Commodity prices are reaching new heights every day. Life is a struggle  for survival everyday. Our feelings and emotions have become numb. In this struggle to win over life, we get busy and forget to express our feelings to our loved ones. Valentine's day gives us an opportunity to articulate those unspoken words. If it's an opportunity that brings in good times, why not cash in on it?
So, before the 'month of love' comes to an end, let me wish all my friends a very happy valentine's day!
